The complete Ador Auto Mig portfolio — mild steel, stainless, aluminium, flux-cored. Spools stocked in 12.5, 15, and 17 kg formats; bulk drum supply available.
ER70S-6 / Auto Mig 70S-6
Workhorse mild-steel MIG wire — silicon-manganese deoxidised for excellent puddle wetting. AWS A5.18. Used in auto-ancillary, structural, general fabrication. Tolerant of mill scale and light contamination. Suitable for short-circuit, globular, and spray-transfer modes. Diameters 0.8, 0.9, 1.0, 1.2, 1.6 mm.
ER70S-3 (Clean Copper-Coated)
Lower-silicon variant of ER70S — for applications where weld appearance matters (visible architectural welds) or where downstream painting/coating quality is critical. Less puddle wetting than ER70S-6 but cleaner-looking weld bead.
ER308LSi Stainless MIG
Stainless MIG wire for 304/304L parent metal. Silicon-enhanced deoxidiser improves arc wetting on stainless. Low-carbon (≤0.04%) deposit prevents intergranular corrosion. AWS A5.9. Used in pharma, dairy, food-processing fabrication. Diameters 0.8, 0.9, 1.0, 1.2 mm.
ER316LSi Stainless MIG
Molybdenum-bearing stainless MIG wire for 316/316L parent metal. Better chloride and pitting corrosion resistance than ER308LSi. Standard for marine, pharma pure-steam, chemical plant chloride environments. AWS A5.9. Diameters 0.8, 0.9, 1.0, 1.2 mm.
ER4043 / ER5356 Aluminium MIG
ER4043 for general aluminium MIG welding (6xxx series — 6061, 6063 structural aluminium). ER5356 for high-strength magnesium-aluminium (5xxx series — 5083, 5754 marine grade, rail-coach aluminium). AWS A5.10. Diameters 0.9, 1.2, 1.6 mm. Spools wrapped in moisture-barrier to prevent oxide formation.
E71T-1 / E81T-1 Flux-Cored Wires
Flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) wires — flux inside the wire eliminates need for external shielding gas (or uses CO2 as shielding for higher productivity). E71T-1 for mild steel (70 ksi tensile, all-position), E81T-1 for high-strength low-alloy steel. Used in shipyards, structural shops, and field welding. AWS A5.20.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between MIG and MAG welding?
MIG = Metal Inert Gas (uses pure argon or argon-helium shielding gas — preferred for aluminium, copper, stainless). MAG = Metal Active Gas (uses CO2 or argon-CO2 mix — preferred for mild and low-alloy steel because CO2 contributes to weld pool chemistry). In practice, the wire is the same — what changes is the shielding gas. Ador Auto Mig wires work for both MIG and MAG depending on the gas you pair them with. For mild steel ER70S-6, common gases are 100% CO2 (cheapest, more spatter), 80/20 Ar/CO2 (less spatter, cleaner weld), or 90/10 Ar/CO2 (best appearance, more expensive).
Which shielding gas works best with ER70S-6 mild steel wire?
Three common choices: (1) 100% CO2 — most economical, produces more spatter, deepest penetration, suitable for thick plate and structural work where appearance is secondary; (2) 80/20 Ar/CO2 — balanced cost-quality trade-off, less spatter than pure CO2, smoother weld appearance, standard for production fabrication; (3) 90/10 Ar/CO2 or 95/5 — premium gas mixes for highest appearance quality (architectural welding, visible automotive welds), highest cost. Most production shops standardise on 80/20 Ar/CO2 as the best overall balance.
What spool sizes do you stock, and what's the bulk supply option?
Standard spool sizes: 12.5 kg (most common), 15 kg, 17 kg. For high-volume production we supply bulk drums of 200-300 kg (with appropriate drum-feed equipment compatible with your wire feeder). Drum supply reduces wire-change downtime in 24/7 operations. We coordinate drum equipment if you're new to drum-fed welding.
How should MIG wire spools be stored to prevent oxidation?
Store in original sealed packaging in a cool, dry environment (15-25°C, <60% relative humidity). Once opened, use within 2-3 weeks — air exposure causes surface oxidation that affects wire-feed smoothness and weld quality. For wires sitting in feeders idle for >24 hours, retract back to spool and re-seal in moisture-barrier bag. Most quality issues we see with MIG welding trace back to oxidised wire from prolonged exposure or improper storage.
Do you supply flux-cored welding wires for shipyard and field structural work?
Yes. We stock E71T-1 (mild steel, 70 ksi tensile, all-position, requires CO2 shielding) and E81T-1 (high-strength low-alloy, 80 ksi tensile). E71T-1 is the workhorse for shipyard plate welding and outdoor structural fabrication where MIG wire would have shielding-gas issues (wind, breeze). Spool sizes 12.5 and 15 kg. Bulk drums of 200 kg available for high-volume sites.
Can your MIG wires be used on robotic welding cells?
Yes. Ador Auto Mig wires are widely qualified for robotic welding installations across Indian auto-ancillary (Bharat Forge, Sundaram-Clayton, Mahindra CIE). Wire diameter consistency and cast/helix tolerance are critical for robotic feed smoothness — we supply with strict tolerance certification on each spool. For new robotic installations, we recommend a process-qualification batch (typically 200-500 kg) before bulk rate-contract supply to validate feed smoothness in your specific robot/feeder/torch setup.
