Industrial Gear Oil Supplier in Hyderabad

Industrial gear oil is an extreme-pressure (EP) lubricant for enclosed gear drives — spur, helical, bevel and worm — formulated to DIN 51517 Part 3 (CLP) with EP and anti-wear additives that protect tooth flanks under shock load. We supply Castrol Tribol, Veedol Apreslube, GS Caltex EP gear oils and Balmerol gear oils in ISO VG 68 to 680 from Secunderabad stock, for spur, helical, bevel and worm drives across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Every CLP-class gear oil must pass the FZG A/8.3/90 scuffing test at load stage ≥12 (DIN ISO 14635-1) plus the demulsibility and corrosion-protection requirements of DIN 51517-3. Viscosity bands are the ISO 3448 definition: grade mid-point ±10%.

Which Gear Oil Viscosity for Which Drive

The gearbox nameplate or manual is always the final word — but when a plate is unreadable or the manual is long gone, these are the ranges enclosed industrial drives in Indian ambient temperatures are most commonly specified around:

Drive type Typical ISO VG Notes
Helical / bevel reducers, general duty220The most common industrial grade; CLP (DIN 51517-3) EP oils
Slow-speed, heavily loaded reducers320–460Crushers, mills, conveyor drives; check AGMA 9005 class
Worm gear drives460–680Sliding contact needs heavier films; never mix polyglycol (PAG) fills with mineral oil
High-speed / high-ratio input stages68–150Higher speeds need lower viscosity for churning losses and heat

Searching for gear oil manufacturers? Most plants are better served by an authorised stocking distributor: manufacturer minimums start at full pallets, while a distributor holds Balmerol Protomac SP and Veedol Apreslube grades in stock for single-barrel dispatch with manufacturer batch certificates. Not sure how far your current fill has degraded? See our gear oil change interval guide or put the gearbox on a sampling programme with our oil analysis service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between EP and non-EP gear oils?

EP (extreme pressure) oils contain anti-scuff additives for heavy-load applications like mining gearboxes. Non-EP oils suit lighter industrial and automotive uses. Vasundhara supplies both types.

Q: How do I select the right viscosity for my gearbox?

Viscosity depends on gear type, speed, load, and temperature. ISO 220 suits heavy industrial gears, ISO 46 for automotive. Our technical team reviews your specifications and recommends products.

Q: What causes premature gear failure?

Insufficient or incorrect lubrication causes tooth wear, scuffing, and fracture. Correct gear oil prevents premature wear, reduces noise, extends equipment life, and maintains efficiency.

Q: What is API GL rating?

API GL-1 to GL-6 are automotive gear-lubricant service designations — GL-4 for manual transmissions and spiral-bevel axles, GL-5 for hypoid axles under high load. They do not apply to enclosed industrial gearboxes, which are classified to ISO 12925-1 (CKB / CKC / CKD) and DIN 51517 Part 3 (CLP), with AGMA 9005 as the common alternative. Check your gearbox manual for the required classification — and if it quotes a GL number for an industrial gearbox, that is worth querying with the OEM.

Q: How often should gear oil be changed?

Every 5,000-10,000 operating hours or annually. Synthetic gear oils extend intervals to 20,000+ hours. We provide oil analysis to determine optimal drain intervals for your gearboxes.

Q: What causes foamy gear oil?

Air entrainment or low anti-foam additives cause foaming, reducing protective film. Proper ventilation, correct oil level, and premium oils with anti-foam packages prevent this issue.
