What we supply
Pulse-jet cartridge dust collectors
Pleated cartridges cleaned by compressed-air pulses, from compact mobile units to large fixed collectors. For grinding, cutting, blasting and powder processes.
Cutting-table extraction
Collectors matched to laser and plasma cutting tables, with zoned ducting so only the area being cut is extracted. See fiber laser cutting machines.
Explosion-protected collectors
For combustible dusts such as aluminium and magnesium from grinding and polishing, with explosion-protection features and anti-static filter media. Selected only after the dust is assessed.
Oil mist collectors
Mechanical and electrostatic units that capture coolant and oil mist from CNC turning, milling and grinding machines, keeping floors and air cleaner.
Industrial vacuum cleaners
Mobile and fixed vacuum units for workshop floors, machine tools and metal chips, including continuous-duty models for production lines.
Grinding benches and booths
Downdraft and back-draft workbenches and enclosed booths for grinding, deburring and small-part welding.
How to size a dust collector
| Point | What to check |
|---|---|
| Airflow | Set by the hoods, table size and capture velocity needed at each pickup point, plus duct length and bends |
| Dust type | Particle size, stickiness, moisture, oil content and whether the dust is combustible |
| Filter media | Polyester, PTFE-coated, anti-static or flame-retardant cartridges chosen for the dust |
| Cleaning | Timed or differential-pressure pulse cleaning, and compressed-air supply for it |
| Combustible dust | Aluminium, magnesium and some organic dusts need explosion-protected design and a proper hazard review |
| Supply and noise | 230 V or 415 V; noise level at the operator position |
| Running cost | Cartridge life, compressed-air use and power; keep spare cartridges |
Oil mist from CNC machines
Coolant and neat-oil mist from high-speed machining settles on floors and machines and is breathed in by operators. A collector mounted on each enclosed machine captures the mist and returns the oil. Mechanical collectors suit most coolant mist; electrostatic collectors capture finer mist and smoke from neat-oil machining. Pairing mist collection with correct coolant concentration also cuts coolant consumption — see our coolant management service.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right size of dust collector?
Size is set by airflow, which comes from the number and type of hoods or pickup points, the capture velocity each needs, and the duct layout. A grinding bench, a laser cutting table and a central system for a whole shop need very different airflows. Share the process, pickup points and layout and we recommend the airflow and filter area.
What is a pulse-jet cartridge dust collector?
It filters dusty air through pleated cartridges and cleans them automatically with short pulses of compressed air, so the filter keeps its airflow without stopping the process. It is the most common collector for grinding, cutting and fine dry dust.
When is an explosion-protected dust collector needed?
When the dust can burn or explode in a cloud — for example aluminium and magnesium dust from grinding and polishing, and some organic dusts. These applications need explosion-protection features and anti-static filters, selected after the dust and process are reviewed. A standard collector should not be used on combustible metal dust.
Do laser cutting machines need a dust collector?
Yes. Laser cutting produces fine metal fume and dust under the cutting table. A collector sized to the bed, usually with zoned extraction so only the section being cut is extracted, protects operators and keeps the optics and machine cleaner.
What does an oil mist collector do?
It captures coolant and oil mist from enclosed CNC machines, so mist does not settle on floors and machines or reach operators. Mechanical collectors suit most coolant mist; electrostatic collectors handle finer mist and smoke from neat-oil machining.
Do you supply replacement filters?
Yes. Replacement cartridges and spares are supplied on order for the equipment we supply. Keeping a spare set avoids downtime during filter changes.
