Kixx Turbine Oil is to ISO 8068. Balmerol transformer oil is to IS 335:2018, with an IEC 60296:2020 reference grade. Water spray systems are designed to IS 15325, sprinklers to IS 15105, surge protective devices to IEC 61643-11. Every one of those is checked against the issuing body’s own listing, not against what reads plausibly.

IS 335 oil in 50 L and 200 L service packs for top-up, plus on-site filtration, degassing and dielectric-strength restoration through our partner network. Buying oil is the easy half; restoring a transformer to a tested dielectric strength is the half that matters.

HD Fire deluge, water spray, sprinklers and foam, sized to the Indian codes for transformer yards, cable galleries, coal handling, turbine lube-oil rooms and fuel storage. Hydrant and pump packages are sourced from their manufacturers and we say so — we do not put another maker’s pump under HD Fire’s name.
DC Surge Protection That Matches the Array Voltage
Solar DC is not AC with a different label. Citel DS50PV Type 2 DC SPDs come in 600 V, 1000 V and 1500 V variants, with Type 1+2 where an external lightning protection system exists, plus gPV backup fuses and isolators coordinated per IEC 61643-32 and IEC 60364-7-712. Specifying an AC device on a DC string is a fire, not a fault.
GeM, PSU and Utility Documentation

Kixx Turbine Oil ISO VG 46 and ISO VG 68, premium inhibited turbine oils to ISO 8068 with antioxidant, rust, corrosion and anti-foam inhibitor packages. VG 46 for steam turbine bearing, governor and control-oil service and for heavy-frame industrial gas turbines; VG 68 for hydro turbine bearing service on Pelton, Francis and Kaplan sets, and for turbo-blowers and turbo-compressors on the plant side.
Transformer Oils — Balmerol
Highly refined naphthenic mineral insulating oil to IS 335:2018, the PSU-manufactured standard for new distribution and power transformers, plus an inhibited grade to IEC 60296:2020 with DBPC antioxidant for extended oxidation life. Service top-up in 50 L drums and 200 L barrels, reclaimed service-grade oil where economics favour it, and on-site filtration, degassing and dielectric restoration through our partner network.

Veedol Industrial Gear EP ISO VG 100 to 680 with sulphur-phosphorus EP additive, Industrial Gear EP HD for high-shock-load duty, and Veedol Synthetic Gear PAO where oil temperature runs continuously above 90°C. Deluge valves and water spray systems designed to IS 15325 for transformer yards and outdoor oil-filled equipment. Sprinklers to IS 15105 and NFPA 13 for cable galleries, turbine lube-oil rooms, coal conveyor houses and stores. Foam pourers and monitors to IS 12835 and NFPA 11 for fuel-oil tank farms. Hydrant and pump packages sourced from their manufacturers — fire pumps to IS 12469.
Surge Protection — Citel AC and DC
AC side: DACN1-25VGS Type 1 lightning-current SPDs at the service entrance, DAC50VGS and DACF15S Type 2+3 at the final line for DCS, SCADA and instrument cabinets, all to IEC 61643-11. DC side for solar: DS50PV-600, DS50PV-1000 and DS50PV-1500 Type 2 DC SPDs matched to string voltage, Type 1+2 combined where an external LPS is present, with gPV backup fuses and isolators per IEC 61643-32 and IEC 60364-7-712.

Generation Across the South
Generation in southern India is a mix of coastal thermal, inland hydro, and a very large and still growing renewable base. The consumable and protection profile changes sharply between them, and so does the specification pressure.
- Coastal Andhra thermal belt — Vizag, Krishnapatnam, Nellore: coal-fired capacity attached to ports, with salt-laden air, monsoon humidity and heavy coal and ash handling. Wet-duty greases, water spray protection on transformer yards, and corrosion in the switchyard are the recurring problems.
- Telangana thermal and hydro: a mix of thermal capacity and hydro on the Godavari and Krishna systems. Hydro sets are turbine-oil and guide-bearing work; the thermal plants carry the full coal-handling and cable-gallery fire-protection load.
- Anantapur, Kurnool and the Rayalaseema solar corridor: among the largest solar concentrations in India, with utility-scale plants running 1000 V and increasingly 1500 V DC. High lightning exposure on open arrays makes DC surge protection and array earthing a design item rather than an accessory.
- Karnataka wind and solar — Ballari, Chitradurga, Gadag, Tumakuru: wind farms with gearbox and yaw-drive lubrication needs, tower-base control cabinets exposed to transients, and increasingly co-located solar. Access is the constraint — a wind gearbox oil change is planned months ahead, so specification errors are expensive.
- Tamil Nadu wind belt and Chennai industrial generation: the Muppandal and Coimbatore wind corridors, plus captive and industrial generation attached to the Chennai manufacturing base. Captive plant tends to be smaller, older and harder to shut down, which pushes everything towards condition monitoring.

Fire System Design Review
Water spray for transformer yards to IS 15325, sprinkler design to IS 15105, foam to IS 12835 and NFPA 11. We will review an existing design against the code it claims to meet, which on older installations is often where the gap is — not in the hardware.
SPD Coordination Survey
Type 1, 2 and 3 coordination, cable lengths, earth bonding and backup protection, sized per IEC 61643-11 and IEC 61643-12 on the AC side and IEC 61643-32 and IEC 60364-7-712 on the DC side. Most SPD failures we see are coordination and bonding problems, not device failures.

Both are available. Where an inhibited oil is specified we supply a grade to IEC 60296:2020 with DBPC antioxidant for extended oxidation life. Service top-up comes in 50 L drums and 200 L barrels, and we can arrange on-site filtration and degassing rather than only selling you the oil.
What fire protection does a transformer yard actually need?
For outdoor oil-filled transformers the normal answer is a fixed high or medium velocity water spray system designed to IS 15325, actuated by a deluge valve, with the spray nozzle layout worked out against the transformer envelope and the oil volume. Sprinklers to IS 15105 belong in cable galleries, turbine lube-oil rooms and enclosed areas, not on an outdoor transformer. We supply HD Fire deluge valves, spray nozzles and sprinklers; hydrant and pump packages are sourced from their manufacturers, with fire pumps to IS 12469.
Which DC surge protective device for a 1500 V solar string?
Citel DS50PV-1500, a Type 2 DC SPD rated for 1500 V DC applications — utility-scale plants have moved to 1500 V for balance-of-system efficiency and the device has to match. Where the site has an external lightning protection system you need a Type 1+2 combined DC SPD instead. Either way it needs coordinated gPV backup fusing, DC isolation and earthing per IEC 61643-32 and IEC 60364-7-712. An AC SPD on a DC string does not clear the arc, and that is a fire rather than a nuisance trip.
Do you supply wind turbine gearbox oil?
We supply industrial gear oils — Veedol Industrial Gear EP, Gear EP HD and Synthetic Gear PAO — and they suit yaw drives, pitch drives and many auxiliary gearboxes. For the main gearbox, be careful: turbine OEMs qualify specific oils against their own approved-list, and a main gearbox oil change is a crane operation you plan months ahead. Send us the turbine model and its approved-fluid list and we will quote against it or tell you it is outside our range. We would rather say that than have you drain a gearbox for the wrong oil.
How often should turbine and transformer oil be tested?
Turbine oil quarterly as a baseline, monthly where the unit is base-loaded or the reservoir has had water in it: viscosity, acid number, water content, ISO 4406 particle count, air release and foam. Transformer oil annually for breakdown voltage, moisture and acidity, with dissolved gas analysis at the interval your maintenance policy sets - six-monthly on critical units is common. Trends matter far more than single results, which is why we keep the history for supply customers.
