Two machines, and the number that separates them
Both are IGBT inverter-based GMAW power sources built around the same idea — an inverter power module, a high-frequency transformer and fast-recovery diodes — and both ship as a system: power source, wire feeder, torch and interconnecting cables. What separates them is duty. The Champmig 400 gives 400 A at 60% duty and 310 A continuously. The Champmig 600 gives 600 A at 60% and 465 A continuously. If your welders are laying long structural passes at 300 A and more, the 400 will be sitting at its continuous limit all shift and the 600 will not.

What you actually get
Champmig 600 — two configurations
Ador build the 600 as two outfits on the same ICVR 600 power source and the same Feedlite 40 (NEH-RC) feeder. The Champmig 600 A carries the Ador MTG 600 E gas-cooled torch; the Champmig 600 E carries the Ador TW 502 (E) and the water cooling unit that goes with a water-cooled system. Which one you want is decided by how long the arc is on, not by the power source.
Protections on both
Under-voltage and over-voltage, over-temperature, and single-phasing — if any one of the three phases is absent, welding stops and no welding current is available. Faults are reported on the display rather than by a trip you have to diagnose.
Arc control
Both carry dynamic inductance adjustment, 2T and 4T operation, and separate crater voltage and crater current settings from the digital panel, plus Ador’s pinch-off pulse to stop a globule forming at the wire tip on stop. Both have automatic weld-stop, and normal or creep feeding selectable from the front panel. Ador rate both as 25% more energy efficient than conventional machines.
What we do with it after you buy it
The machine is the easy part. We supply the consumable side from the same counter — Ador MIG wire, shielding gas regulators, contact tips and liners — so the wire diameter in the feeder and the rollers in it are the ones the machine was set up for. And when a fume-extraction requirement comes with the installation, that is quoted on the same order rather than chased separately.
A note on the Champmig 250. Ador list a Champmig 250 in the same family, but the brochure currently linked from their own product page for it is the datasheet for a different machine. We will not publish specifications for the 250 from a document that does not carry its name — ask us and we will get the correct figures from Ador before you order.
