Veedol Quenchol Heat Treatment Oil in Hyderabad — the Quenching Grade, to IS 2664
Vasundhara Performance Solutions is the authorised Hyderabad supplier for Veedol’s heat treatment oil. Veedol’s quenching range is one grade — Quenchol, not a family, and this page says so. It meets IS 2664:1980 (reaffirmed 2014) and is recommended by Veedol for all normal quenching operations on a wide variety of steels. Martempering, vacuum-furnace and polymer quenchants are sourced, and the cards below say which is which.

Veedol Quenching Oil Range
Complete Veedol heat-treatment oil portfolio — cold-quench for conventional hardening, hot-quench / martemper for distortion control, vacuum-quench for high-cleanliness applications.
Veedol Quenchol
Veedol’s heat treatment oil — and the whole of their quenching range. Formulated to control the cooling rate so parts harden uniformly with minimum distortion, and to resist oxidation and breakdown for longer bath life. Meets IS 2664:1980 (reaffirmed 2014). 29.8 cSt at 40°C, viscosity index 99, flash point 200°C, pour point −3°C. Sold until recently as “Veedol Quenching Oil”.
What Quenchol Is Rated For
Veedol recommend it for all normal quenching operations on a wide variety of steel. The datasheet gives no separate accelerated grade and publishes no quench-severity figure. If your process is specified to an H-factor or a GM Quenchometer number, tell us and we will get it confirmed by Veedol in writing before you order — rather than quote you one from a table nobody stands behind.
Hot Quench and Martempering — Sourced
Martempering and interrupted-quench baths run at 130–180°C and need a fluid rated for continuous service at that temperature. Veedol do not publish one, so we source martempering oils from makers who do. Give us the bath temperature, the steel and the section thickness and we will quote against a datasheet.
Vacuum Quench — Sourced
Vacuum quench fluids for Ipsen, Schmetz, ALD and Aichelin furnaces are qualified on vapour pressure as much as viscosity, against the furnace maker’s own approved-fluid list. That is not something to substitute into. We source them against your furnace model and its list.
Polymer Quenchants — Sourced
Where the fire load of an open oil bath is the problem, polyalkylene-glycol quenchants are the alternative — concentration-controlled, water-based, no flash point. Veedol’s range is oil only, so these are sourced. Worth a conversation if fire risk rather than metallurgy is what is driving the change.
Bath Maintenance, Top-Up and Analysis
Top-up supply matched to the grade already in your bath, plus periodic sample analysis — viscosity drift, water content, total acid number and carbon residue. Quench oil is changed on condition, not on a calendar. Water ingress is the failure worth watching: it is what causes soft spots and quench cracking, and it shows in a sample long before it shows in a part. We coordinate the laboratory work for supply customers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from heat-treatment plant operators sourcing Veedol quenching oils through Vasundhara.
When should I use cold quench versus hot quench (martempering) oil?
Cold quench, with the bath at roughly 40–80°C, is the normal choice for through-hardening carbon and alloy steels — that is what Veedol Quenchol is for. Hot quench, with the bath at 130–180°C, is for martempering: you hold above the martensite finish temperature to even out the section before transformation, which cuts distortion and cracking on thin or complex parts. If you are cracking parts or fighting distortion on a cold bath, martempering is the conversation — and that needs a fluid rated for the higher bath, which we source.
How do I measure quench severity, and what is Quenchol’s?
The two common measures are the GM Quenchometer nickel-ball test and ASTM D6200 cooling-curve analysis, which gives you the full curve rather than a single number. Veedol do not publish a severity figure for Quenchol. We will not invent one — if your specification calls for a stated H-factor or a cooling curve, we will ask Veedol for it before quoting, or source a fluid whose maker publishes it.
How often should the quench bath be sampled and changed?
Quarterly sampling suits most single-shift heat-treat shops; monthly if you run continuously or if the bath has had water in it. Watch viscosity at 40°C against the 29.8 cSt baseline, total acid number, water content and carbon residue. Change on the trend, not on a date. A bath that is drifting up in viscosity and acid number is oxidising and will start quenching slower than the process assumes.
Oil quench or polymer quench — which should I be using?
Oil is the default for most through-hardening work and Quenchol is a mineral oil. Polymer quenchants are water-based, have no flash point and cut the fire load, and their severity can be tuned by concentration — but they need concentration control, refractometer checks and corrosion management that an oil bath does not. The honest answer is that oil is simpler and polymer is safer, and which wins depends on your parts and your fire officer. Veedol supply the oil; we source the polymer.
Is Quenchol suitable for my Ipsen, Schmetz or Aichelin vacuum furnace?
Assume not unless the furnace maker lists it. Vacuum quench fluids are selected on vapour pressure so they do not outgas into the chamber, and furnace builders publish approved-fluid lists for exactly that reason. Send us the furnace model and its list and we will source a fluid that is on it.
Do you supply in drums and in bulk for large heat-treat plants?
Yes. For a first fill or a full bath changeout, give us the bath volume, the grade and the shutdown date, and we will confirm availability and pack size with Veedol before quoting rather than after. For a running bath, top-up quantities are routine stock.
Can you support bath maintenance and sample analysis?
Yes, for supply customers. We coordinate sampling and laboratory work — viscosity, total acid number, water content and carbon residue — and read the results against your baseline so you get a change-out recommendation rather than a page of numbers. Sampling technique matters: draw from the circulating bath at temperature, not from a settled corner.
