GS Caltex Kixx Thermic Fluids in Hyderabad — Therm Oil M to 285°C, Synthetic to 320°C
Vasundhara Performance Solutions is the authorised Hyderabad supplier for GS Caltex Kixx heat transfer fluids. Two grades, and the one you need is decided by the bulk oil temperature your heater actually runs at: Kixx Therm Oil M, the mineral fluid GS Caltex rate for closed systems up to 285°C, and the synthetic Kixx Therm Oil, rated to 320°C. Both in 210-litre drums, with the manufacturer’s current PDS supplied against every quotation.

GS Caltex Kixx Therm Oil M Range
GS Caltex Kixx Therm Oil M portfolio — Korean-engineered mineral thermic-fluid for Indian indirect-heating applications.
Kixx Therm Oil M
GS Caltex’s mineral thermic fluid for indirect heating with forced circulation. GS Caltex rate it for closed systems — sealed with cold oil or inert gas — at bulk oil temperatures up to 285°C, and for open systems up to 180°C. Meets IS 14745:1999. Supplied in 210-litre drums.
Kixx Therm Oil — Synthetic Grade
The synthetic fluid, for indirect closed systems with forced circulation at bulk operating temperatures up to 320°C. GS Caltex cite higher thermal and oxidation stability, low volatility and vapour pressure, and minimal fouling on heat-transfer surfaces. This is the grade to specify when your heater runs past the mineral fluid’s 285°C ceiling. 210-litre drums.
Which Grade Your System Needs
Work from the bulk oil temperature your heater actually runs at, not its design rating. Below 285°C in a closed loop, Kixx Therm Oil M is the right fluid. Above it you need the synthetic — running a mineral fluid past its rated bulk temperature thermally cracks it, and the cracked heavy ends coke onto the heater tubes. If you are between the two, send us the heater make and an operating log and we will put the recommendation in writing.
Datasheets and Documentation
GS Caltex issue the current PDS for these fluids on request rather than publishing the full typical-properties table, so we obtain it and send it with the quotation, along with the MSDS and a per-batch certificate of analysis. If your QA needs the datasheet before you raise the order, ask and we will get it to you first.
Top-Up and Make-Up Supply
Replenishment for running installations, matched to the grade already in the system. Per-batch certification supports continuous-operation thermic plants where a mid-cycle change is not feasible. Tell us which grade is in there — one of these two is mineral and the other synthetic, and that is not a detail to guess at.
Used-Oil Analysis and Drain Planning
Periodic sample analysis — viscosity drift, total acid number, water content, particle count and carbon residue. Thermic fluid is changed on condition rather than on a calendar, and the trend across samples is what tells you when. Vasundhara coordinates the laboratory work for our supply customers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from textile, pharma, chemical and food-processing buyers sourcing GS Caltex Kixx Therm Oil M through Vasundhara.
Is Kixx Therm Oil M equivalent to Mobiltherm 600, Shell Heat Transfer Oil S2 or Total Seriola?
They fill the same slot — mineral thermic fluids for closed indirect systems — but "equivalent" is a word to be careful with. None is a licensed interchange for another, and their rated bulk temperatures differ. GS Caltex rate Kixx Therm Oil M to 285°C bulk in a closed system. Check that against whatever your current fluid is rated to before treating them as swappable, and confirm compatibility before topping one into the other.
How long does Kixx Therm Oil M last in service?
There is no honest hours figure. Life depends on your bulk temperature, how well the expansion tank is blanketed and how much air the system ingests, and GS Caltex do not publish a drain interval. Thermic fluid is changed on condition: sample it, watch viscosity, total acid number, flash point and carbon residue, and change when the trend says so rather than on a date.
Can Kixx Therm Oil M be used above 285°C?
No. GS Caltex rate it for closed systems at bulk oil temperatures up to 285°C, and open systems up to 180°C. Above 285°C the answer is the synthetic Kixx Therm Oil, rated to 320°C bulk. Running a mineral fluid past its rated bulk temperature thermally cracks it — light ends that drop the flash point, heavy ends that coke on the heater tubes.
What causes thermic fluid to discolour or smell burnt?
Usually thermal cracking at the heater tube surface, where film temperature runs well above bulk temperature — low flow, fouled tubes, or a burner cycling hard. Sometimes it is oxidation from air getting into an unblanketed expansion tank. Darkening on its own is not a reason to change out; a burnt smell with rising acid number and a falling flash point is. Sample before you decide.
What sample analysis tests should I run?
Kinematic viscosity at 40°C, total acid number, flash point, water content, particle count and carbon residue. Draw the sample from a circulating line at operating temperature, not from the bottom of the expansion tank — a tank-bottom sample tells you about sludge, not about the fluid in service. We coordinate the laboratory work for supply customers.
Can you supply in bulk rather than drums?
GS Caltex list a 210-litre drum pack for these fluids. If you are planning a first fill or a full changeout large enough to want bulk, talk to us before you schedule it — we will confirm with GS Caltex what can be released and in what pack, then quote the drum logistics against it.
Why pick Kixx over Mobil, Shell or Total?
Mostly availability and documentation. Between reputable mineral thermic fluids rated to the same bulk temperature the technical differences are small; what varies is how fast you can get a drum in Hyderabad when a system needs topping up, and whether the paperwork arrives with it. If your heater runs above 285°C bulk, that is a real technical difference — and then the grade matters far more than the brand.
