ESAB Equivalents & Sourcing — Welding Equipment
If you arrived here searching an ESAB part number, this page is written for you. We are not an authorised ESAB distributor. ESAB and the product names on this page are trademarks of ESAB Group Inc. and its affiliates, used here only to identify products a buyer may be searching for. We are authorised distributors for Ador Welding. Where a customer requires the genuine ESAB item we will source it to order and say so plainly on the quotation. What follows is the useful part: what each ESAB designation actually is, which numbers have to match before anything can be called equivalent, and what we can put in front of you — from the Ador range we are authorised for, or the ESAB item itself sourced to order.

How to Read a Cross-Reference Without Getting Burned
“Equivalent” Is Only Meaningful Against a Number
Two MIG torches rated 400 A at 60% duty cycle with a Euro connector are interchangeable in a way that two torches sharing a marketing name are not. Everywhere on this page, the comparison is to a published rating — amperage, duty cycle, connector, gas, thread, pressure range, optical class. Where no objective number exists, we say the item has to be matched by inspection rather than pretend otherwise.
Consumables Cross-Refer Cleanly. Machines Often Do Not.
Filler metals carry AWS classifications, so an ESAB electrode and an Ador electrode of the same AWS class are genuinely comparable and your WPS will usually accept either after the normal qualification. Power sources, torches and regulators do not work that way — they cross-refer on ratings and fittings, and a torch that fits the machine may still want a different liner, tip and diffuser.
Spares Follow the Machine, Not the Cross-Reference
The commonest and most expensive mistake. If your shop runs ESAB power sources, the consumable path for those machines — contact tips, nozzles, liners, electrode collets, plasma electrodes and shields — stays ESAB unless you deliberately convert. We would rather tell you that at quotation stage than sell you a torch that strands your spares.
We Say Which Column We Are In
Every line we quote is marked either Ador, authorised or ESAB, sourced to order. We do not blur the two, and we do not describe ourselves as an ESAB channel. A buyer who finds out later is a buyer we have lost, and rightly.
Stocked in Secunderabad
The Ador range ships within 2 working days on stocked lines across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and pan-India through our group network. Sourced ESAB items carry the lead time we are quoted, stated on the quotation rather than discovered afterwards.
GeM and PSU Documentation Either Way
GeM and Udyam registered. Batch and test certificates, MSDS and authorisation letters supplied with despatch. Where an item is sourced rather than supplied under our own authorisation, the documentation reflects that accurately — which matters at inspection.
ESAB Designations, and What They Cross-Refer On
MMA Inverters — ARC 301i, ARC 400i, ARC 601i, Rogue ES201i, Rogue ES201iP PRO, Rogue ES251i, Fabricator ES 400i, Renegade VOLT ES 200i
What has to match: rated output current, duty cycle at that current, input supply (single or three phase, and the voltage tolerance band your site actually delivers), open-circuit voltage, whether VRD is required, IP rating and weight if it moves around the shop. A 250 A machine at 35% duty is a different purchase from a 250 A machine at 60% even though the headline number is the same. We hold Ador welding machines and rectifier sets under authorised distribution and will quote against your duty-cycle and supply requirement; the ESAB unit we source to order.
MIG/MAG Equipment — MIG 302i, MIG 402i, MIG 502i, Rustler EM 250i, Migmatic 251, Auto K 401, Auto K 600, and AK/MM wire feeders
What has to match: rated current and duty cycle, wire diameter range, feeder roll drive (2-roll against 4-roll), interconnection length, whether the feeder is water-cooled, and the control interface. A 15 m interconnection has a real voltage drop that a 5 m does not, which is why ESAB sell the same machine in 5, 10 and 15 m forms. Ador MIG equipment and Automig wire from authorised stock; ESAB units sourced to order.
TIG Power Sources — TIG 300i, TIG 400i, TIG 401iw, TIG 310i AC/DC, TIG 510i AC/DC, Renegade ET 210iP / ET 300iP, Rogue ET 201iP, Rogue ET 230iP AC/DC, Fabricator ET 400iP
What has to match: DC only against AC/DC (aluminium needs AC), rated current and duty cycle, pulse capability and frequency range, HF or lift-arc start, water cooling, and pedal or torch-trigger control. Buying DC when the shop welds aluminium is the single most common TIG purchasing error we see. Ador TIG equipment and Tigfil filler from authorised stock; ESAB sourced to order.
Plasma Cutting — Cutmaster 120 with SL 100, Cutmaster 70+, PLASMA PC121 with SL100, SL 60 and SL 100 torches
What has to match: rated cut capacity in the material you actually cut (severance thickness and quality-cut thickness are different figures), duty cycle, air quality and flow requirement, torch lead length, and above all the consumable family — electrodes, swirl rings, tips and shields are torch-specific and are the real running cost. We supply Ador King Cut profile-cutting systems and consumables under authorised distribution; ESAB plasma and SL-series torches and consumables sourced to order.
Submerged Arc — CPRA 1250i power source and SAW tractor
What has to match: rated current at 100% duty, wire diameter range, flux delivery and recovery, tractor travel-speed range and guidance. SAW is qualified as a wire-and-flux combination, so the consumable decision is a procedure decision, not a purchasing one. Ador Automelt submerged-arc wire and flux combinations from authorised stock, quoted as the matched pair they are qualified as.
MIG Torches — PSF 260, PSF 405 Plus, PSF 415, PSF 515, Exeor PSF 420W, Exeor PSF 520W, Handy Torch 240 / 360 / 360 HD
What has to match: current rating and duty cycle with the shielding gas you use (a torch rated on CO2 derates on mixed gas), air or water cooling, connector type (Euro is common but not universal), cable length, neck geometry, and the tip, liner and diffuser family. Fitting a torch is easy; feeding it the right consumables for the next five years is the part worth getting right at purchase.
TIG Torches — ESAB SR-B 26 and SR-B 26V, SR-B 400, Exeor TIG XCT 400w
What has to match: current rating air-cooled against water-cooled, torch body size, connector and gas fitting, cable length, valve or non-valve head, and the collet, collet body, back cap and cup series. SR-B 26 is a widely used 26-series air-cooled body, so the collet family is the practical constraint rather than the torch itself.
Electrode Holders, Earth Clamps and Cables — Holder Handicool HC 600, Handicool HC201, Holder Confort 200 / 600, Earth Clamp 300, Heavy Duty Earth Clamp 600, Magnetic Earth Clamp 600, HOFR and HFR welding cable in Cu 35/50/70/95/120 and Al 70/95/120 sq mm
What has to match: current rating and duty cycle, cable entry size, jaw opening and clamping force, insulation, and for cable the conductor material, cross-section and sheath rating — HOFR means heat, oil and flame retardant, which is a sheath property and the thing that actually matters on a shop floor. Copper against aluminium at the same cross-section is not the same ampacity. These are the most cleanly cross-referable items on the page, because the ratings are objective and published.
Gas Regulators — IOX 13B / 13C / 14 oxygen, IDA 4B / 4C / 50B acetylene, IAR 52B / 53B argon, INI 42B nitrogen, LPG 18B, LPG C18, Dura Oxygen / Acetylene / Argon / CO2 / Nitrogen / Hydrogen, GA-600, ISG 43 D series, Argon and Ar-CO2 flowmeters
What has to match: gas service (never cross a regulator between gases — oxygen service requires oxygen-clean components and the threads differ deliberately), inlet connection to the cylinder valve, inlet and outlet pressure ranges, flow capacity, single against double stage, and gauge count. Regulators are a safety item; we quote by gas, connection and pressure range or we do not quote.
Flashback Arrestors — FR 18, FRT G3/8, FT G3/8, Protex RA / RO, FR91T, ESAB FRDX5 line arrestors in G1/2, G3/4 and G1
What has to match: gas service and thread hand (left-hand for fuel gas, right-hand for oxygen, by design), thread size, mounting point (torch-end against regulator-end against line), flow capacity and the standard the device is tested to. This is the item nobody should ever substitute casually — it exists to stop a flame propagating back into a cylinder.
Cutting and Heating Blowpipes, Nozzles and Tips — Cutogen 5, NM250, NM Blowpipe 180, Saffire 2 HP, Saffire LWHP, Model ‘O’, ANM and PNM nozzles, A-series acetylene nozzles, Coolex and LPG P nozzles, AHT heating necks and nozzles, UM4 mixers
What has to match: fuel gas (acetylene and LPG nozzles are not interchangeable — the combustion characteristics differ and so does the nozzle design), nozzle seat and shank to the blowpipe, size designation against plate thickness, and mixer type. The nozzle numbering here is a size in inches — A-12 and ANM-12 are 3/64 inch, A-32 and PNM-32 are 1/8 inch — so cross-referencing by bore size is straightforward once the fuel gas and the seat match.
Welding PPE — Sentinel A70 Air Pro, Savage A41 and A41 Air, Swarm A20, Eco Arc III, EPR-X1.1 PAPR, Hand Shield Armour, spectacles, goggles, gloves, aprons, sleeves, leg guards, FR coveralls and jackets, safety shoes
What has to match on an auto-darkening helmet: optical class (the four-digit 1/1/1/1 rating), shade range, switching time, sensor count, whether powered air is fitted and its assigned protection factor, and the standard it is certified to. On gloves and clothing: material, cuff length, and the heat and flame standard claimed. PPE is the category where buyers most often compare on price alone and get a genuinely worse product, so we quote to the optical class and the standard, not to the picture on the box.
Ovens, Trolleys and Shop Accessories — Electrode Bench Oven 25 kg, Bench Oven 45 kg, Flux Oven 50 and 120 kg, QDO300 drying oven, Quiver QDS5, Universal MIG-TIG trolley, welding curtains, blankets, cable cover, Origo Vac cart, anti-spatter and coolant
What has to match: capacity in kilograms, temperature range and whether it holds or re-bakes (a holding oven at 100–150°C is not a re-baking oven at 300–400°C, and using one as the other is why certified consumables stop performing), thermostat type and insulation. On curtains and blankets: the transmission rating and the temperature rating respectively.
ESAB to Ador Cross-Reference Chart
Consumables cross-refer cleanly on their AWS/IS classification; machines cross-refer on function and amperage and need a duty-cycle check. We are the authorised Ador dealer and stock the Ador grades in Secunderabad; genuine ESAB items are sourced to order.

ESAB and the product names above are trademarks of ESAB Group Inc. and its affiliates, used only to identify products a buyer may be searching for. Vasundhara Performance Solutions is an authorised Ador Welding dealer, not an ESAB dealer; equivalence is stated on published AWS/IS class (consumables) or function and amperage (machines). Verify duty cycle before purchase.
Related: we also stock Sap and Weldcut TIG torches (WP-compatible, stocked in Hyderabad) as fitment alternatives to OEM ESAB and Ador torches.
What We Stock, What We Source
Ador — authorised, stocked in Secunderabad
Welding consumables across the range: Superbond E6013, Supabase E7018, Tenalloy 16W E7016, Topstar 140 E7024, Superinox and Betanox stainless and duplex grades, Automig MIG wire, Tigfil TIG filler, Automelt submerged-arc wire and flux, Ador Fontech Zedalloy hardfacing. Ador Champ welding machines and rectifier sets, and Ador King Cut profile cutting. These we quote under our own authorisation with the manufacturer’s certificates.
ESAB — sourced to order, and marked as such
Where you need the genuine ESAB item — because a standard specifies it, because your maintenance stock is built around it, or simply because you prefer it — we will source it and quote it with the lead time we are given. The quotation will say “sourced” against those lines. We will not describe ourselves as an ESAB dealer, and we will not tell you an item is in stock when it is on order.
The honest answer some of the time is “go to the authorised dealer”
For warranty-critical equipment, for a machine you will depend on for a decade, or where you need OEM field service at short notice, buying through the authorised ESAB channel is the better decision and we will tell you so. A sourced machine carries the manufacturer’s warranty but the service path runs through their network, not ours.
Consumables and spares — think five years ahead
The purchase price of a torch or a plasma unit is a small fraction of what it will consume. Before switching brands on equipment, check what the tips, liners, diffusers, electrodes, swirl rings and shields cost and how quickly you can get them locally. Sometimes the cross-reference is right and sometimes the answer is to stay where you are; we will do that arithmetic with you before you commit.
Fire protection, surge protection and lubricants alongside
Most fabrication shops buying welding equipment are also buying hydraulic and gear oils for the press brakes and rolls, compressor oil, greases, HD Fire protection for the oil store and paint booth, and Citel surge protection for CNC controllers. Consolidating those onto one purchase order is usually worth more to a shop than the difference between two brands of holder.
Where We Deliver
The belts below describe where we deliver — they are the fabrication and industrial clusters inside our service radius, not a customer list. The companies we have supplied are listed on our about page.
- Hyderabad and Secunderabad: Balanagar, Jeedimetla, Medchal, Patancheru, Bollaram, Kazipally, Cherlapally, Nacharam and Uppal — dispatch within 2 working days on stocked lines, then next-day road delivery.
- Telangana and Andhra Pradesh: Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Vijayawada and the industrial estates along the coastal corridor, on scheduled consolidated deliveries.
- Chennai, Bengaluru and Pune: Automotive-adjacent fabrication, machine-tool builders and capital-equipment manufacturers, supplied through our group network with consolidated billing.
- Pan-India: Seven to ten working days on stocked lines through our group network. Sourced items carry the lead time quoted at the time of order.
How We Handle an ESAB Enquiry
Send the Part Number, Get a Straight Answer
Send us the ESAB item code or description — from a price list, an old invoice or the label on the machine — and we come back with three things: what the item is technically, what we can supply from authorised stock against that specification, and what the genuine ESAB item would cost and when it would arrive. You decide which column you want.
Duty-Cycle and Supply Check Before You Buy a Machine
Tell us the process, the plate thickness, the shift pattern and what your incoming supply actually measures at peak load. Half the machines sold in this market are bought on headline amperage and then run outside their duty cycle. We would rather size it properly and sell you a bigger machine once than a smaller one twice.
Consumable Path Costing
Before you switch torch or plasma brands, we cost the five-year consumable path both ways — tips, liners, diffusers, electrodes, swirl rings, shields — including local availability. It is a short exercise and it changes the decision more often than the machine price does.
PPE Specification Against the Standard
For helmets we quote to the optical class, shade range, switching time, sensor count and certification rather than to a photograph. For gloves and clothing, to the material and the heat and flame standard. It is the category where the cheapest quotation is most often the wrong one.
Gas Equipment Safety Review
Regulators, flashback arrestors, hoses and blowpipes reviewed as a set, by gas service, thread hand, pressure range and mounting point. Mismatched gas equipment is the fastest way to a serious incident in a fabrication shop, and it is usually assembled by accident over years rather than by decision.
One Purchase Order Across the Shop
Welding consumables and equipment, machine hydraulics and gear oils, compressor oil, greases, fire protection and surge protection on one order and one invoice, delivered on one schedule. That consolidation is usually worth more than any single brand decision.
ESAB Enquiries & Equivalents — Secunderabad
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Ador equivalent of an ESAB 7018 electrode?
Both are AWS E7018 low-hydrogen electrodes, so they are genuinely comparable on that classification. The Ador grade is its E7018-class low-hydrogen electrode (Tenalloy family). Match the AWS class first, and the welding position and any CVN toughness requirement if your WPS specifies them. We stock the Ador grade in Secunderabad and can source the genuine ESAB item to order.
What is the Ador equivalent of ESAB 308L / 308L PLUS?
The class is AWS E308L. Ador Superinox 1C is E308L-16 and Betanox 308L Plus is E308L-17 - pick the one whose coating and running characteristics match the ESAB grade you are replacing. Both are current Ador stainless electrodes.
ESAB vs Ador - which should I choose?
For consumables, an ESAB electrode and an Ador electrode of the same AWS class are genuinely comparable, so choose on availability, price and support. For machines, compare rated output, duty cycle at that output and after-sales support. We are the authorised Ador dealer and stock in Secunderabad, and we can source ESAB to order; where the authorised ESAB channel is the better route for you, we will say so.
Do you have an ESAB electrode cross-reference to Ador?
Yes - see the ESAB to Ador cross-reference chart on this page. We cross-reference consumables on AWS/IS class, which map cleanly, and machines on function and amperage, which need a duty-cycle check. Send us the ESAB part number and we will give you the matching Ador grade or a sourced ESAB quote.
Which Ador machine matches an ESAB ARC 400i, MIG 402i or TIG 400i?
By class: the ESAB ARC 400i maps to an Ador Champ 400 MMA inverter, the MIG 402i to an Ador Champmig 400 or Maximig, and the TIG 400i to an Ador Champtig 400. Machines do not cross-refer perfectly, so send the ESAB part number and we will match rated output and duty cycle before quoting.
Are you an authorised ESAB dealer?
No. If you need the authorised channel — for warranty-critical equipment, for OEM field service, or because your procurement rules require it — ESAB publishes its dealer network and that is the right route. We would rather tell you that than take an order we are the wrong supplier for.
Can you still supply an ESAB product if I insist?
Yes. We source genuine ESAB items to order. The quotation will mark those lines as sourced, will carry the lead time we have been given rather than an optimistic one, and will not claim any authorisation we do not hold. The manufacturer’s warranty applies as normal, but understand that field service runs through ESAB’s own network rather than ours.
What is the Ador equivalent of an ESAB electrode?
For filler metals this is a clean question, because both makers classify to AWS. An E7018 is an E7018 whoever makes it, so Ador Supabase E7018 sits against any maker’s E7018 low-hydrogen basic, Superbond E6013 against any E6013, Topstar 140 against E7024 iron-powder, Betanox DL against E309L-16 and Betanox 4462 against E2209-16 duplex. Your WPS still governs — send us the procedure and we will quote against the classification it calls for, with batch certificates.
What is the equivalent of an ESAB Rogue ES201i or ARC 400i?
Machines do not cross-refer as cleanly as consumables. What you compare is rated output current, duty cycle at that current, input supply and voltage tolerance, open-circuit voltage, VRD if required, and IP rating. Tell us those four or five numbers — or just the process, plate thickness and shift pattern — and we will quote an Ador machine that meets them from authorised stock, and price the ESAB unit alongside it so you can compare like with like.
Do ESAB torch consumables fit other torches?
Generally no, and this is where money gets wasted. Contact tips, nozzles, diffusers and liners on MIG torches, and collets, collet bodies and cups on TIG torches, are family-specific. A torch that physically connects to your machine may still need a different consumable set. Before switching, cost the consumable path over five years including how quickly you can get spares locally — we will do that with you at no charge, and sometimes the answer is that you should stay with what you have.
Can I substitute a flashback arrestor or a gas regulator?
Not casually, and we will not quote one without knowing the gas. Regulators and flashback arrestors are gas-specific by design: fuel-gas fittings are left-hand threaded and oxygen fittings right-hand, precisely so they cannot be crossed, and oxygen-service components must be oxygen-clean. What has to match is the gas, the inlet connection to the cylinder valve, the inlet and outlet pressure range, the flow capacity and the mounting point. Send us those and we will quote correctly; send us a part number alone and we will ask.
How do I compare welding helmets like the Sentinel A70 or Savage A41?
On five published numbers, not on appearance: the optical class (the four-digit rating, where 1/1/1/1 is the best available), the shade range, the switching time from light to dark, the number of arc sensors, and whether powered air is fitted with its assigned protection factor. A two-sensor helmet in a shop where welders work in confined positions will nuisance-flash; a slow switching time causes eye fatigue that the welder will blame on something else. We quote to those numbers and will tell you where a cheaper helmet is genuinely adequate.
Do you supply ESAB welding cable and holders?
Cable and holders are the most cleanly cross-referable items on this page, because the ratings are objective. For cable, what matters is conductor material, cross-section in square millimetres and the sheath rating — HOFR means heat, oil and flame retardant, and copper and aluminium of the same cross-section do not carry the same current. For holders and clamps, the current rating, duty cycle, cable entry size and jaw opening. Tell us the rating and the run length and we will quote from our range, or source the ESAB item if you prefer it.
Why should I buy from you rather than the ESAB dealer?
Sometimes you should not, and we will say so. Where we are genuinely the better call is when your order spans more than welding: consumables plus machine hydraulics, gear and compressor oils, greases, fire protection for the oil store and paint booth, and surge protection for the CNC controllers — all on one purchase order, one invoice and one delivery, from a warehouse in Secunderabad. For a shop of thirty to two hundred people that consolidation is usually worth more than the difference between two brands of holder.
Do you publish ESAB prices?
No. Manufacturer price lists circulated to their dealer networks are confidential documents, and republishing one would be wrong regardless of whose it is. If you want an ESAB item priced, ask us and we will quote it to you directly with the current lead time.
Send us the ESAB part number
From a price list, an old invoice, or the label on the machine. We will tell you what it is, what we can supply against it from authorised Ador stock, and what the genuine ESAB item costs and when it lands — marked clearly as sourced. No charge for the comparison, and no pressure to take either column.
