HPCL Visakhapatnam, BPCL Kakinada, ONGC pipeline operations, IOCL pipeline divisions (Paradip, Vadodara, Mathura, Numaligarh), GAIL gas pipeline networks, Reliance Jamnagar refinery, MRPL Mangalore, Welspun, Jindal SAW (pipeline pipe manufacturers).
Our Cellulosic Welding Electrodes Range
The full range of cellulosic welding electrodes from Ador Welding — supplied with batch certificates, OEM authorisation documentation, and rate-contract pricing for bulk and recurring requirements.
E6010 / Ador Celwel 60
Ador Celwel 60, AWS A5.1 E6010 — the genuine cellulosic root-run electrode. Fast-freezing, deep penetration, designed for vertical-down root passes on low-carbon steel piping including API 5L Grade B. All-position.
E7010-P1 / Ador Celwel 70P
Ador Celwel 70P, AWS A5.5 E7010-P1 — higher-tensile cellulosic for root and hot passes on ASTM A106 Grade B and C line and process piping. Note: the earlier "E7010-A1" designation on this page does not exist in Ador’s catalogue.
E7010-G / Celwel 70G
All-position cellulosic for high-carbon-steel pressure piping in refineries. Specified for stove/oven piping and refinery process columns.
E8010-G / Ador Celwel 80G
Ador Celwel 80G, AWS A5.5 E8010-G — cellulosic for heavier-wall and cross-country transmission pipe, with the vertical-down characteristics stalk welding needs.
E8010-P1 / Celwel 80P
Cellulosic-iron-power for X65 to X70 line pipe — common in CNG distribution and gas transmission lines.
X80 & Sour-Gas Cellulosic — Sourced to Order
Ador does not publish an E9010-G electrode. For X80 line pipe and sour-gas service we source the cellulosic from a manufacturer that publishes the grade, and supply the batch certificates with it — we will not substitute a lower-strength Celwel grade into an X80 procedure.
E11018-M / Ador Tenalloy 80 — low-hydrogen complement
Ador Tenalloy 80, AWS A5.5 E11018-M, for the fill and cap after a cellulosic root. Tenalloy is Ador’s low-hydrogen basic-coated family — it is not a cellulosic electrode and must not be run vertical-down as a root. Its siblings are Tenalloy 60 (E8018-G) and Tenalloy 70 (E9018-G).

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between E6010, E7010 and E8010 cellulosic electrodes?
The numerical suffixes correspond to minimum tensile strength: E6010 is 60 ksi (414 MPa), E7010 is 70 ksi (483 MPa), and E8010 is 80 ksi (552 MPa). E6010 is used for general low-carbon piping (API 5L Grade B). E7010-A1 adds carbon-molybdenum for higher-temperature service. E8010-G and E8010-P1 are used for X65 / X70 line pipe and heavier-wall fittings. The choice depends on the parent material grade specified in your construction/welding spec.
Why use cellulosic instead of low-hydrogen for pipeline root-pass?
Cellulosic electrodes generate hydrogen-rich shielding that produces a forceful, deep-penetrating arc — ideal for fast-freezing root-pass welds in vertical-down position. This is why almost all cross-country pipeline construction uses cellulosic for the root and hot pass. Low-hydrogen (E7018, E8018, E11018) is then used for fill and cap to keep weld-metal hydrogen low and improve toughness. Combining the two captures the best of both.
Can Ador Celwel electrodes be used in an API 1104 qualified procedure?
Yes. API 1104 qualifies a welding PROCEDURE, not an electrode - no consumable is API 1104 certified. Ador Celwel cellulosic electrodes are widely used in API 1104 procedure qualifications on PSU and private pipeline projects in India, and we supply the batch certificates and the AWS A5.1 / A5.5 type-test data your PQR will need. We supply with batch certificates that support PQR documentation. Refinery and gas-transmission contractors normally specify the AWS class rather than a trade name; where a trade name is required we quote the matching Ador Celwel grade.
Do you supply for oil & gas pipelines across India?
Yes. We're a pan-India distributor for Ador cellulosic electrodes, with supply across HPCL Visakhapatnam, BPCL Kakinada, ONGC, IOCL refinery and pipeline divisions, GAIL gas networks, Reliance Jamnagar, MRPL Mangalore. Bulk dispatch from our Secunderabad warehouse — typical order quantities are 200-1000 kg per project, packed in moisture-resistant 5 kg / 25 kg cartons.
How do I store and handle cellulosic electrodes?
Cellulosic electrodes need a moisture content of 4-6% in the coating to function correctly (this is opposite to low-hydrogen electrodes, which need to be dry). Store in original sealed cartons in a cool, dry warehouse. Do not over-bake — that destroys the cellulose. Once a carton is opened, use within 4-8 hours. Re-seal partial cartons in moisture-barrier bags. Ador's packaging includes a moisture-control wrapper that maintains coating moisture during transit.
Can you provide PSU and GeM tender documentation?
Yes. As a GeM-registered (Government e-Marketplace) supplier, we provide the full pre-bid pack: OEM authorisation letter from Ador, type-test certificates per AWS A5.1, API 1104 qualification support, BIS/IS compliance reports, and OISD-RP-189 conformance for refinery applications. PSU tenders frequently specify cellulosic electrodes for pipeline work — we routinely respond to HPCL, BPCL, IOCL, ONGC, GAIL inquiries with same-day documentation.
What pack sizes and lead times do you offer?
Standard pack: 5 kg cartons (moisture-controlled), boxed in 25 kg or 50 kg shipping units. Bulk dispatch direct from Secunderabad warehouse — same-day for stocked Celwel 60, 70G, 70P, 80G and 80P grades; 5-7 days for the Tenalloy low-hydrogen cap-pass grades. Minimum order: 25 kg for stocked grades, 200 kg for made-to-order specials.
