Does SELCO supply USP, IP or FCC white oils for pharmaceutical manufacturing?
No. There is no white oil in the SELCO range and no USP, IP or FCC grade. If your tablet press tooling or capsule-filling line needs a pharmacopoeial white oil, ask us: we will quote it from a manufacturer who holds the grade certification and hand you the certificate with the quotation.
Does SELCO make cleanroom lubricants or autoclave and steriliser greases?
No. Neither is in Yale Synthlube’s published range. Autoclave door and steam-steriliser duty in particular needs a lubricant qualified for repeated saturated-steam exposure, and we source that from a manufacturer with a published qualification rather than stretch a general H1 grease into the role.
What does NSF H1 registration actually mean?
H1 is NSF’s category for lubricants acceptable where incidental contact with food may occur — the formulation is restricted to ingredients cleared for that use, and the accepted trace limit on the food-contact surface is 10 ppm. It is not a licence to lubricate food contact surfaces deliberately, and it is not the same as 3H (direct contact release agents) or H2 (no contact possible). An H1 registration belongs to a specific product name and number, which is why we quote the number.
What documentation do you provide for an FDA or WHO-GMP audit?
For each of the three registered products: the NSF registration letter carrying the registration number, the manufacturer’s TDS and MSDS, and a per-batch certificate of analysis. Yale Synthlube also holds ISO 9001:2015. What we will not give you is a certificate for a product that does not have one — if an auditor asks for an H1 letter covering your chain oil or your white oil, that letter has to come from whoever makes those, not from us.
How does the SELCO H1 range compare with Castrol Optileb, Total Nevastane or Mobil SHC Cibus?
Those are broad H1 families spanning hydraulic, gear, chain, compressor and grease lines. SELCO’s H1 range is deliberately narrow: one oil, one grease, one aerosol. Where an H1 chain oil or a dedicated H1 gear oil is specified, one of the wider ranges is the honest answer and we will quote it. Where SF-330 and SG-330 cover the duty, SELCO is competitive on price and lead time from Mumbai.
