Ador King Regulator Series
Single-stage and two-stage gas regulators to IS 6901:2009, ISI marked · BIS licence CM/L 7225968
The King Regulator Series is Ador’s gas regulator line, made to IS 6901:2009, ISI marked, under BIS licence CM/L 7225968. It comes in a single-stage and a two-stage build, and the two are not interchangeable — the choice is about how steady your outlet pressure has to stay as the cylinder empties, not about price.
Single-stage or two-stage
A single-stage regulator drops cylinder pressure to working pressure in one step. As the cylinder falls, the outlet drifts and the operator corrects it at the knob. For cutting, brazing and general shop work where someone is at the torch anyway, that is perfectly serviceable, and the unit is lighter at 1.10 kg.
A two-stage regulator drops it twice. A stainless steel first-stage diaphragm takes the shock of full cylinder pressure; a rubber second-stage diaphragm does the fine control, in a plenum chamber six times the volume of the first. The outlet holds steady as the cylinder empties. Where that matters — long uninterrupted cuts, machine torches, anything where a drifting flame means a rejected edge — it is the one to buy. It weighs 2.40 kg and carries separate safety valves on both stages.

Forged brass bonnet on the first stage, die-cast alloy bonnet on the second. Teflon-moulded valve and stainless steel spindle in the valve-assembly capsule on both stages. Triple filtration — one at the inlet and two wire-mesh in the valve assembly. Separate safety valves on both stages. Weight 2.40 kg.
Three things to check before you order
The acetylene thread is left-hand. On both builds, acetylene and LPG take left-hand threads at inlet and outlet; oxygen, argon, nitrogen and carbon dioxide are right-hand. This is a safety convention, not a preference, and a fuel-gas regulator will not fit an oxygen cylinder by design. Do not force an adaptor onto one.
Argon and CO2 come with a flow gauge, not a pressure gauge. The outlet gauge reads directly in LPM and ft³/hr, so you do not need a separate flowmeter for shielding gas. If you have been quoted a regulator plus a flowmeter for TIG or MIG, you are being sold something twice.
LPG needs an adaptor. LPG regulators fit the cylinder through a King adaptor, and there are two — one for private cylinders and one for government cylinders. Tell us which you run and it goes on the same order.
What goes with it
A regulator on its own is half the safety chain. The other half is a flashback arrestor: one at the regulator and one at the torch. Ador’s are the King Protect series, and IS 11006 is the standard that applies to them — not IS 6901, which is the regulator standard.
